DAIRY CREST INGREDIENTS LEADS THE WHEY?

Whey is recognised as one of the most versatile and interesting by-products of the food industry.

From its state of the art Davidstow Creamery in Cornwall home to Cathedral City Dairy Crest's renowned and top selling cheese brand more than 24,000 tonnes of Davidstow whey is produced annually.

A recent multi million investment face-lift at Davidstow has included an up-to-the minute spray drier and evaporator for the production of whey powder. Vegetarian, Halaal and Kosher whey is produced by Dairy Crest Ingredients at Davidstow.

Dairy Crest whey is produced during the manufacture of hard cheese (Cheddar) and is known as sweet whey and has an approximate pH value of 5.6 to 6.3.
